Apple has released updates to Tahoe 26.6, Sequoia 15.7.8 and Sonoma 14.8.8

Apple has just released updates to all three supported versions of macOS, bringing Tahoe to version 26.6, and security updates bringing Sequoia to 15.7.8 and Sonoma to 14.8.8. This is the first update to Sequoia and Sonoma since 11 May, and is expected to be accompanied by updates to Safari.

The Tahoe download for an Apple silicon Mac may initially be reported as 21 GB, although only about 4 GB was actually downloaded here before the progress bar jumped to preparing the update!

Apple’s release notes simply claim this addresses bugs and security issues, and “optimizes the Spotlight index in preparation for macOS 27”.

Security releases notes are available for Tahoe, with around 143 vulnerabilities fixed, none of which are reported as being actively exploited, and for Sequoia and Sonoma.

In Tahoe 26.6, the build number is 25G72, mBoot firmware is updated to version 18000.161.9, and Safari is updated to 26.6 (21624.4.5.11.5).
