Apple has just released the update to bring macOS Tahoe to version 26.5.2, but there are currently no concurrent security updates for Sonoma or Sequoia.
Its download size on an Apple silicon Mac is about 2.7 GB.
Security release notes are already available here. This addresses a total of about 29 vulnerabilities, including three in the kernel and a whole slew in WebKit. None are believed to have been exploited in the wild yet.
The build number of macOS 26.5.2 is 25F84, with a Darwin Kernel Version of 25.5.0 from Tue Jun 9 22:28:34 PDT 2026, and XNU 12377.121.10~1.
There is a firmware update for Apple silicon Macs to mBoot 18000.121.3.
The following bundled apps have been updated:
- Messages, a small build increment
- Passwords, to version 2.5.2
- Photos, a small build increment
- Safari, to version 26.5.2 (21624.2.5.11.8).
Changes in /System/Library include:
- kernel extensions updated include AppleAVD and IOGPUFamily
- APFS to version 2811.121.1
- Frameworks updated include CoreFoundation, CoreMedia, CoreText, Foundation, ImageIO, MediaExtension, MediaToolbox, Photos, PhotosUI, VideoToolbox
- many Private Frameworks have minor build increments, including most Photos*
- CoreMedia.mdimporter has a build increment.
