I hope that you enjoyed Saturday’s Mac Riddles, episode 234. Here are my solutions to them.
1: Tough back problem succeeded the floppy.

hard disk
Tough (hard) back problem (disk, also a hard intervertebral disc would be a real problem) succeeded the floppy (hard disks succeeded floppy disks as the main means of data storage).
2: Ice or semiconductor road to house replaced 1.

solid-state drive
Ice (solid state of water) or semiconductor (solid-state) road to house (the drive) replaced 1 (it has progressively replaced hard disks as internal storage of Macs).
3: Fastener for super floppy until its click of death.

Zip (drive)
Fastener (a zip) for super floppy (what it was: hard disk capacity storage of 100, 250 or 750 MB on a special floppy disk) until its click of death (they were notorious for this sudden failure mode).
The common factor

They have all been internal storage in Macs.
I look forward to your putting alternative cases.
