Masterly account of Sierra’s new log system

Not everything that happens on the First of April is a practical joke: it was the day on which Sarah Edwards presented her masterly review of the new log system in macOS Sierra.

We missed the presentation, but thankfully Sarah has made her slides available from her blog.

Although targeted particularly at Mac forensics, which is her field, this is recommended reading for anyone who might go near the log, especially if they might do so using the log command. She also mentions (and shows) Consolation, for which I am flattered. It’s also interesting to see that she has not yet discovered any alternative for browsing existing log entries in Sierra.
