watchOS 2.0 might be here, somewhere, if the Watch app were to work

A number of those trying to update their  Watch to watchOS 2.0 are experiencing problems with the Watch app on their iPhone. It may loop repeatedly, getting stuck when it claims that it is “Verifying…”. The only way out of that seems to be to quit the app, and start afresh: although the update (over 500 MB) does not get downloaded again, the app loops back round the “Preparing…” stage, but may get stuck verifying.

For the moment I can only suggest just to keep trying. Sometimes when you go back into the Watch app and check for the update, it claims not to know that 2.0 has come out: I suspect that is an update server glitch.

It would have been helpful if Apple could have actually got the update app and process to work properly, but quality assurance doesn’t seem to be a strong point just now, or maybe I am just upset.
