Apple has released a security update to macOS Tahoe 26.6.2

Apple has just released a security update to macOS Tahoe, bringing it to version 26.6.2. There don’t appear to any matching security updates to Sequoia or Sonoma, though.

The download size for 26.6.2 on Apple silicon is about 2.9 GB.

Security release notes are already available from here, and list a total of 20 vulnerabilities addressed in this update.

The new build number is 25G83, and there’s a firmware update for Apple silicon Macs taking mBoot to version 18000.161.10. Intel Macs are updated to firmware of 2103.160.2.0.0 (iBridge 23.16.16068.0.0,0). Safari is updated to version 26.6.2 (21624.5.1.11.3).

There’s only one other bundled app that has a new version number, Passwords, which goes from 2.6 (21624.4.5.11.5) to 2.6.2 (21624.5.1.11.3).

There are very few changes in version or build numbers in /System/Library, among them:

  • AppleH13CameraInterface and AppleH16CameraInterface kernel extensions
  • AppleMatch kernel extension

and a handful of private frameworks, including CryptexKit, CryptexServer and SafariSafeBrowsing.
