Apple has today pushed another silent update to the security data files for macOS Sierra and OS X El Capitan. This brings Gatekeeper’s configuration data to version 1.0 122. As usual, Apple neither announces this, nor tells us what has changed.
If you are unsure which versions of these important security files your Mac is using, download and install LockRattler, from Downloads above, as it will tell you.
Postscript: according to testing by Patrick Wardle at Objective-See (@objective_see), among the changes is revocation of the Developer ID for Quoc Thinh, which was used to sign the ‘Mughthesec’/SafeFinder adware.
