Apple pushes new set of ‘silent’ protection updates for Sierra

Apple has today pushed out five silent updates to the hidden security protection built into Sierra – and, I presume, to El Capitan, where applicable.

Gatekeeper Configuration Data is incremented to version 103. As usual, no details are provided.

MRT Configuration Data is incremented to version 1.10 (the same version as was pushed to El Capitan on 17 September). No details are provided.

XProtectPlistConfigData remains, as usual, at version 1.0.

Gatekeeper Disk Image Configuration Data is now at version 7.0. This appears to be new for macOS Sierra.

Finally, the Incompatible Kernel Extension Configuration Data is brought to version 12.0.8. The last version for El Capitan was version 3.30.1, so it looks like someone has changed the versioning too.

I will be putting together complete details on these files in Sierra over the next couple of days, and will post an article once it is complete.
