Apple has pushed out a silent update to El Capitan’s Gatekeeper configuration data, bringing it to version 97, as of 31 August 2016.

As usual, Apple has not detailed what has changed. I would suspect that this tackles the problem of a malicious version of Transmission, containing OSX/Keydnap. It does not, though, invalidate the signature on the crapware which I reported recently here: that will still pass through Gatekeeper without any problem.

Accompanying this update is another to Chinese Word List, bringing that to version 4.22.

I have updated my list of current versions of El Capitan components which are updated silently.
