Apple has released macOS Sequoia 15.1.1

Apple has just released an update to macOS Sequoia, bringing it to version 15.1.1, build 24B91 (all Macs other than M4) or 24B2091 (M4 Macs only). This brings two important security fixes, to JavaScriptCore and WebKit, both of which Apple believes may already have been exploited. The update should be less than 800 MB to download.

Safari is updated to version 18.1.1 (20619.2.8.11.12). There are also matching updates to Safari available for Sonoma and Ventura, addressing the same vulnerabilities.

Typo? Think it’s 15.1.1, not 15.5.1 as you have it in your body text

Howard…hmmm…. I have to wonder if this will relate to UNFLAGGED malicious links redirects / trackers I and others have experienced in Brave browser (for Mac in my case)

I found some code in a json file that redirected to one of the culprits gotrackier.com

Found in searches of
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads/config.json:29897: “||gotrackier.com^”,
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads/config.json:34974: “||gotrackier.com^$popup”,

It may have also been in a brave folder w/ plist in all those dang container files/folders but I have now deleted everything that had brave and gotrackier that I could find.

I submitted the file to virustotal, bit defender and nothing was flagged or found. downloaded free malware bytes (and it found nothing) even though I still have this json file with a different name, it did not flag the file.

  Those hits aren’t anything to do with a browser, as they’re in a path that might be a container for your Mail app. However, I don’t see that container here, as Mail now AFAIK uses a Group Container. So the first thing you should do is check the dates on those files, as they could well be old, or from old macOS anyway.
  I’m not sure what problem you’re trying to tackle here. Perhaps you’d like to explain?
