Apple has just released macOS updates to bring Ventura to 13.6 and Monterey to 12.7, for those not intending to upgrade to Sonoma when it’s released next week.
Limited details are available of the vulnerabilities they address, as many will be common to Sonoma 14.0 and so will be added to the security release notes next week, after its release. The two fixes for Ventura are here, and one for Monterey is here. All appear related to BLASTPASS malware, and are believed to be actively exploited.
It’s expected that Ventura 13.6 also improve compatibility with iOS and iPadOS 17.0.
Early release of these updates should ease pressure on Apple’s servers for Sonoma next week.
Postscript:
Apple has also released Safari 16.6.1 for Big Sur and Monterey, available through Software Update. That fixes another of the vulnerabilities exploited by BLASTPASS, so is strongly recommended. I presume that the equivalent version is bundled in Ventura 13.6.
