Oracle has just released Java 8 update 74 build 02, available either as version 8u73 or 8u74.

This brings time zone information up to date with IANA version 2015g, and includes some important patches for security issues, although those are most critical for Windows rather than OS X. It is strongly recommended, and available now from Oracle.
