Because of its glorious past, Apple is about the future. But just now we need our past, with the future looking so uncertain.
In 10 or 20 years time, where will today’s photos and videos be? In an archive? Have you started one yet?
How can you ensure that your descendants will have access to your photos, movies, and work many years in the future?
If you cannot retrieve a document in an extinct format, there is no point in archiving it in the first place.
Do you keep off-site backups far enough away, and fully up to date?
It would be a great tragedy if a major cultural activity of the early 21st century were to pass into oblivion because no-one remembered to collect it properly.
