The river runs red with the blood of Trojans before Achilles gets his chance to fight Hector, and kills him. Then he dishonours the Trojan’s body.
Troy
With Greek defeat imminent, Patroclus dons Achilles’ armour and puts the Trojans to rout. He chases them to the city’s gate, where he’s killed by Hector.
With Achilles out of the war, the Trojan army takes on the Greek expeditionary force. Under the leadership of Hector, it gets the upper hand and puts the Greeks into retreat.
Achilles acquires himself a concubine, as does his commander Agamemnon. When the latter is forced to return his, and takes Briseis from Achilles, there’s trouble.
Achilles had gone missing, hiding as a young woman in the royal court on Skyros, where Odysseus found him. And a master archer was bitten on the foot by a snake.
The origins of Troy explained, Helen as a princess of Troy, and Menelaos raises an expeditionary force under the command of Agamemnon. Without wind, though, their ships can’t sail.
Zeus, disguised as a gander, raped Nemesis, who laid Helen as an egg. She became step-sister of Castor and Polydeuces, and went on to be abducted by Paris as Aphrodite’s bribe.
Paris, Prince of Troy, is the perfect pawn in Zeus’s plan for war. He develops a taste for beautiful women, then accepts Aphrodite’s bribe in the beauty contest of the three goddesses.
Zeus comes up with a plan to reduce the number of mortals, and completes one of the first two steps, marrying Thetis to a mortal. And what a wedding feast, thanks to Eris.
