About MakeLogarchive

This is a development version of a tool which should eventually create logarchives from live macOS Sierra and High Sierra unified logs which can be opened using my free log browser Consolation, or Apple's Console.

Currently this version generates logarchives which are incomplete, but can still be opened by Console.

Run the app. There are two buttons:

Copy for Console currently generates a plain logarchive which can be opened by Console. Click on the button, and select the file containing the log folders. In the case of a 'live' log, this will be /var/db. Then select and name the logarchive into which the logs will be saved.

If you have Debug checked (ticked), debug information will be shown in the scrolling text view below.

Copy to proper Logarchive currently does exactly the same, but the debug flag has no effect.

There are currently no other functions.
